And Now For...The Rest of the Story!

Did you ever listen to radio commentator Paul Harvey, who died last year?  He frequently had stories where he would tell a story that had no ending at one time and then -- he's say, "Now For the Rest of The Story")  So here's our "rest of the story".

Dinner tonight was with the senior concierge, Martha, whom we had met on our Black Sea cruise last year.  I asked her what exactly she did as her job.  It turns out that, among other things, she finds lost luggage!  And she was intimately involved with our personal "luggage-gate".  She actually went into the bowels of the boat, along with our butler and 4 crew members and sorted through package after package!  TUrns out that, in St. Louis, Fedex put our bag in a large cardboard box.  When the box got to Dover, they thought it was office equipment , not luggage.  There were 44 pieces of luggage delivered to the boat from Luggage Free. None were in boxes, only wrapped in a saran-like cover.  Ours was not one of them.  Because noone knew what was INSIDE this heavy cardboard box, they ignored it.  After all, they were looking for a red suitcase.  Until Martha find the box under a pile of fedex tubes, packages, etc and ripped it enough to see -- - voila! --- a big red suitcase!  They had been looking for a red suitcase.  Not a cardboard box.  Now YOU KNOW THE END OF THE STORY!!! Over and out (per Paul Harvey!)

  3. Glad to hear it was that simple in the end! I love the concept of LuggageFree, and was a bit disappointed that they may have messed up your trip. Woo hoo to Martha!
